his father was a cop, and his father was a cop, and his father was a cop. that was always the way it was in the solo family. his father, bruce was a 33 year vet of the force at the time of his death. his mother, tracy, was a nurse. helping the community was something that the solos held very near and dear to their heart. Jacksen was the first son of the young couple. They had only been together roughly a year when they found out they were expected. It was quite unexpected but they were both up for the challenge. Though they never legally married, the two stayed committed to each other for over 30 years. From the start jacksen was a rambunctious child. He was so full of love, energy and wit. His parents knew that their first son was destined to do something great with his life. It was only a few years later when their second son came into the world. Jacksen, jax for short, was quick to take on his protective duties as an older brother. he pushed anyone on the playground that gave his brother a hard time, he walked him to and from the school bus, he read him a story before bed. Jax loved being the protector. His job only get more serious when a little baby girl came into the family not too long after. Jax knew he’d have his hands full with a girl. He didn’t know anything about dolls or dresses or princesses. He was still determined to learn and do it all in the name of brotherly love.

Over time, the family decided that their small apartment in Brooklyn just wasn’t going to cut it anymore. So they packed up their things and moved into an old Victorian house in sleepy hollow. It was an exciting new change for the three kids. Jax was into sports, his brother was the smart one, and his sister was girly by all comparisons. They were all learning and discovering who they were and what they wanted to be. Jax idolized his father and wanted to be a cop just like him. He would march around the house in his police officer uniform from Halloween well into july. he would blow his whistle, bark out commands and write tickets for his sister’s teddy bears when they were caught laying around the house. Jax was a man of the law, ‘and would be respected as one’.

As he got older his ambitions only grew stronger and stronger. Of course there were times that he was on the wrong side of the law. He’d been to plenty of parties in high school that were busted. Lucky for him he was a great runner. That and the fact he carried to solo family name (which came in handy a few times). Jax knew that if he wanted to become a cop he had to make sure he never did anything that would follow him for the rest of his life. Despite that, jax never took himself too seriously. He was always known as the pranksters, the jokester, the funny guy. He loved to laugh and have a good time. He was the jocky type. Baseball was his other true love. He never considered playing professionally or anything. He just loved the game. Whenever they had the chance his father would take him to Yankees games. Those were some of the best memories he had with his father.

It wasn’t long before jax was off on his way to st.johns for college. It was back to the big city and he couldn’t be more excited. he was ready to start making a name for himself. He was honored that his father had given their family name such strength, but jax was always ready to set out from his shadow and make a name for himself. Four years went by quicker than he could have imagined. With a criminal justice degree in hand, he was ready to apply for the police academy. College had been an amazing experience for him. All of the parties, the people, the pride. He was glad he decided to go instead of going right from high school to the academy. This gave him a better ground to stand on. He was more mature, stronger, smarter and faster. He was ready. Nothing was going to get in his way.

The academy was everything that he expected but at the same time nothing he was prepared for. It tested him mentally, emotionally, spiritually, in every way that someone could be tested. His family could not have been more proud of him when he graduated and finally reached his goals. It was the most thrilling and terrifying thing that he had ever done. It wasn’t about the danger or the thrill to him. It was about helping people, protecting people, bringing people together. He wanted to serve his community like his family before him. Yes, there would be downsides to the job. He’d go in and out of the e.r. a few times with cuts and bruises and broken ribs. At the end of the day all of that was worth it to help save people.

A few years into his new job he met the other love of his life, Teresa. She was everything that he could have asked for in a partner: smart, kind, loving, graceful and unbelievably gorgeous. The connected immediately and began planning a life together. Four long years later he put a ring on her finger and promised to make her the happiest woman in the world. His family could not have been more excited about the engagement and the new addition to the family. The bliss didn’t last very long. A few months after the engagement jax’s father was shot and killed in the line of duty. It was a robbery gone wrong. His father was making a routine traffic stop. Unbeknownst to him, the driver had just robbed a convenience store. The man shot his father twice before speeding off. They never caught the man that did it. The death of his father was a devastating blow to jax. His whole world began to fall apart. His took a leave of absence from his job, started drinking heavily, letting his life crumble.

His biggest mistake was cheating on the love of his life with a woman he picked up at a bar. her name was angie and she was a young waitress. they slept together three or four times before the guilt consumed him. he told teresa and destroyed his engagement and the only relationship that he cared about. Teresa left, not able to accept what he had done. How could he blame her? He was a mess. He knew then and there that he had to clean up and get it together. His father would have been ashamed of the man he had become. So he sobered up, got back to work, and spend the next few years trying to make it up to Teresa. They’d have their moments were they would get back into old habits. But trust issues and fear would pull them apart. they would go months without talking then hed be at her door and quickly in her bed. there was no denying the love that was still very strong between them. It was during two of these flings that teresa became pregnant. Gabriel was born in 2012, two years after their engagement fellow apart. he was a complete surprise but jax stepped up to the plate. he was never going to let his son not have a father. last year they welcomed their second child, angelina. she was his perfect little angel. they were the two best things to happen to him since his fathers passing. Now, at the age of 36, hes trying to manage co-parenting and a hectic schedule. Jax wants nothing more than to put his family back together. It's just taking time and moving at a slow pace but he wont give up. He hopes that they can once again trust each other and find the strength to make it work.
