THE CALL.

That party last night was awfully crazy I wish we taped it.

Year three. Over half way there. Almost done. It was still hard for Jimmy to imagine himself as a college graduate. Business management had been a lot harder than he ever expected. Studying wasn’t his thing. He had a hard time keeping focused on anything that didn’t have to do with cars. Being an auto mechanic was his life. It was the one big thing he shared with his dad. When he was in high school they would spend hours under the hood of his dad’s truck talking about cars. Even before that he was a grease monkey.

As a child he would follow his dad to work just to watch and listen. His father was patient; more patient then Jimmy was. He took time to explain every detail to his son. Anthony wished for so much for his eldest child. He wished for him to get a degree, own his own garage, start a family. He believed that Jimmy had it in him to be great. Jimmy on the other hand was happy with the simple life. He didn’t care about a fancy degree or a big place of his own. If it hadn’t been for his parents he probably would have never gone to college.

Here he was. The start of year three. Almost at the end of his path at Temple. Much to his surprise he actually fell in love with the college lifestyle. He’d joined a frat (much to his own surprise), had fallen in love with a sexy red head, and was renting a killer house with his friends. Every day was an adventure, and every night was a party. Though he loved to indulge in the party life style he always made sure he got to class. Not for himself but for his parents. They were the reason for it all. It was a typical Saturday night at the house: booze was flowing, the music was pounding and the pool was full to the brim.

All of a sudden he could hear the faint sound of the Rocky theme song in the background. He quickly reached in to his pocket to retrieve his phone. That was the ringtone for his mother. Shit, what time is it? he thought to himself. Why on earth was she calling him at 1:45am. His heart dropped in to his stomach as he placed the phone at his ear. Ma?

James? Your father's been in an accident..."
